The Standing Group intends to represent a site for debating the restructuring of the post-Soviet space. It aims to gather academics and experts sharing a research interest in the multi-form archipelago controversially dubbed as “the former Soviet area”, that is, a varied group of countries of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia. It indeed focuses on a vast and composite area, whose cultural and political complexity needs to be further examined, studied, and investigated.
