Tiziana Corda
University of Milan

Tiziana Corda is a PostDoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Milan. Her current research focuses on authoritarian regimes and the effects that sanctions and other forms of foreign pressure and linkages have on their trajectories, with a regional focus on Africa. Previously, she worked on a research project of the University of Sussex and funded by the European Research Council (ERC) on Violence, Elites, and Resilience in States Under Stress (VERSUS) and on global policy issues for the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) and the EU’s European External Action Service (EEAS).

Gianni Del Panta
University of Pavia

Gianni Del Panta is Junior Assistant Professor at the University of Pavia where he teaches Democratization in the Global World. He loves politics, history and philosophy. His favourite novel is Leonardo Padura’s The Man Who Loved Dogs. In academic terms, his main interests include regime changes, autocracies, mobilizations from below and revolutions. He has published articles in journals such as Democratization, Government and Opposition, Contemporary Politics, Middle East Critique and Italian Political Science Review. His first monography is L’Egitto tra rivoluzione e controrivoluzione: da piazza Tahrir al colpo di stato di una borghesia in armi (Il Mulino, 2019).
